​​Travel back in time and enjoy a ride on a heritage train with Goldfields Railway.  Journey between Waihi and Waikino at the eastern end of the spectacular Karangahake Gorge.​ This amazing experience takes approximately 2 hours with a break at Waikino Station to enjoy a hot or cold beverage and a nibble. Alternatively take time to wander through the gorge and historical sites​, then return on the later train back to Waihi.

Experience a section of what used to be known as the East Coast Main Trunk Line which stretched from Auckland to Taneatua south of Te Puke. Enjoy an area rich in history, including historic goldmining which shaped much of this part of the Southern Coromandel.

Tickets issued at Waihi (Ticket Counter) or Waikino (Train Guard) on presentation of receipt/booking confirmation electronic or printed. PASSENGERS MUST PLEASE BE AT THE STATION 30 MINUTES BEFORE DEPARTURE.
